How it helps
You can't pour from an empty cup
Family caregivers do extraordinary work, often while juggling jobs, kids and their own health. Respite care gives you time to rest, run errands, see your own doctor or simply catch your breath — without worrying about what's happening at home.
Planned or last-minute

- Overnight respite so you can finally get a full night's sleep.
- Weekend and vacation coverage with 24-hour or live-in care.
- The same routines you follow, documented in a simple care plan.
- Personal, companion or memory care — whatever your loved one needs.

Questions
Respite care FAQs
Is there a minimum for respite care?
Respite visits start at four hours. There's no long-term commitment, so you can schedule a single visit or set up a recurring break every week.
Can respite care be paid for by insurance?
Many long-term care insurance policies and VA programs include respite benefits, and some Medicaid waiver plans do too. Hospice patients may also qualify for respite through their hospice benefit.
What if my loved one has dementia?
We'll assign a caregiver with memory care training and keep them consistent across visits whenever possible, so the change in routine feels as gentle as it can.
